We deliver eLearning, open and bespoke training courses aimed at all levels from a parent who wants to find out more about dyslexia to a dyslexia professional looking to gain a Level 7 accreditation.

Introduction to Dyscalculia

This half-day in person session aims to give you a brief introduction to dyscalculia and to develop an understanding of its relationship to general maths difficulties.

This one day in person training session will explore the differences between dyscalculia and general maths difficulties, and the indicators which may signal that a learner is at risk of dyscalculia.

Supporting Students with Dyscalculia

This two day in person training session will increase attendees' understanding of dyscalculia and effective strategies to support learners, through discussing subtypes of developmental dyscalculia and exploring, in greater detail, mathematical concepts such as the four operations, fractions, the concept of time, and the use of concrete manipulatives.

Assessing for DSA and renewing your APC

One day

This one day course is for holders of AMBDA or a Level 7 qualification in specific learning difficulties who will assess using the new post-16 report format. The day will cover the new post-16 report format, what Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) is, choosing tests for a DSA assessment, updated SASC guidance and renewing your APC. This course is suitable for delegates applying to any APC provider.

Assessing for Exam Access Arrangements

This one day SASC accredited course is aimed at those new to assessing for Exam Access Arrangements, or for holders of AMBDA or a Level 7 course in specific learning difficulties who want to update their knowledge in assessing for Exam Access Arrangements. The course will cover how specific learning difficulties impact learners in exams and the ways in which access arrangements can meet individual needs. Complex Profiles – becoming a confident & competent assessor

One day

This one day SASC accredited course is aimed at holders of a Level 7 qualification who want to improve confidence in assessing and understanding diagnostic profiles which are not clear, or are more complex. Delegates can supply thumbnail sketches of recent assessments to discuss. The day includes collecting background information & the importance of qualitative information, new guidance on report writing from SASC and how to implement it, and selection of suitable tests.
