The BDA delivers a Level 4 accredited programme to train work-based assessors. On successful completion of the programme, participants will be able to assess individuals with dyslexia or other Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) for adjustments within the workplace. The aim of the programme is to provide the necessary knowledge and skill for delegates to be able to perform this role and includes the appropriate research and applications in this area.
In person or eLearning or Blended (combination of eLearning and or In person)
This programme is intended to provide a greater understanding of the problems that dyslexic learners face, and appropriate methods and resources to help support them to develop skills for successful independent learning.
eLearning or Blended (combination of eLearning and onsite)
This programme is intended to equip candidates with an understanding of the issues that dyslexic individuals face, and how they can be supported to develop coping strategies that will assist them in the workplace, in learning, and in day-to-day life.
eLearning or Blended (combination of eLearning and or In person)
This programme is intended to provide a greater understanding of dyslexia, along with a range of some of the more commonly diagnosed learning difficulties including: Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD); Attention Deficit and Attention Deficit Hyper Activity (ADD/ADHD); Dyspraxia and Dyscalculia. For each of these SpLDs the possible causes, signs and indicators and possible support strategies are explored.
The aim of this programme is to enable teachers and parents to support the multilingual dyslexic individual in learning an additional curriculum language. That is, for example, in the UK a child may have Welsh as their first language, use English in the classroom, but also have to learn French.
