Key Tests: WRIT and TOMAL2 (SASC Approved)

This SASC approved course is aimed at practising assessors who assess individuals of all ages and wish to know more about using the key tests: WRIT and TOMAL2. Delegates should hold AMBDA and/or an APC or have completed a L7 qualification in the assessment and teaching of SpLD learners. The course will broaden their understanding of the how to assess using these tests as part of the assessment battery, and how to score these accurately.

Practical Strategies for Revision & Exam Technique

Individuals are frequently told to revise for exams but are rarely shown how to revise effectively or efficiently. This eLearning module identifies and explains a wide variety of strategies and approaches to support dyslexic individuals with effective revision so that they can maximise their learning. It also sets out techniques that can be taught to dyslexic individuals in order to help them to achieve success in examinations.

This module explores the nature of these difficulties and sets out clear strategies that can be used to support individuals effectively, as well as how to assist them in developing the skills they need to become better organised.

Helping With Phonics: A Free Resource from the SoundCheck Project

This eLearning module has been designed for teachers, TA's, LSA's and other education professionals who wish to support primary age learners to develop better phonics skills. These resources may be of particular use to those working with children who are approaching the Phonics Screening Check. The materials for this course have been developed as part of the SoundCheck Project as run by the BDA in partnership with Dyslexia Action and Springboard for Children.
