Open Training Courses

Our popular open training courses provide teachers, TAs and other education staff with the knowledge and skills to support their dyslexic or dyscalculic students. You can attend a single course, or go on to build individual courses into an accredited award at level 2 or 3.

Onsite Training

We are able to offer all of our open training courses onsite at your education establishment. This includes our accredited level 2 and 3 programmes.

Onsite training offers great flexibility and convenience for you, as well as the opportunity to train a large number of your staff at an extremely competitive cost.

Our eLearning site primarily has two functions:

  • an online learning platform offering flexible study on a range of themes related to dyslexia awareness and support;
  • an online resource base for delegates attending our open training courses or studying for our level 2 and level 3 accredited programmes.

Accredited Level 5 Certificate in Dyslexia; Literacy, Support and Intervention

The BDA Level 5 Certificate in Dyslexia; Literacy, Support and Intervention provides training for individuals who have a professional interest in dyslexia in order for them to become informed practitioners and teachers. The courses are modular and flexible and are undertaken part time, through online or blended learning.

SASC Accredited Training for Specialist Assessors

Our one-day SASC Accredited CPD training course is for Specialist Assessors. This course provides 5 hours of CPD.

This advanced refresher course is aimed at Teachers who are conversant with and experienced in the application, analyses and interpretation of psychometric tests.

Music Learning and Dyslexia

This 3-day course enables delegates to develop a practical understanding of how dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties affect music learning. It can lead to an accredited award in Music and Dyslexia at Level 2.

BDA Summer Schools

BDA Training is pleased to offer our non-residential Summer School programmes for Teachers and TAs working with students under the age of 16 years. These programmes lead to the awards, Practical Solutions for Dyslexia Plus (at Level 3), or Practical Solutions for Dyscalculia (at Level 2).

Achievement of the awards requires attendance at all training days followed by successful completion of an assessed workbook.
