Tutor for Professional Level Training (Level 5)
This is a key role within the organisation and will take on tutoring responsibilities for a caseload of candidates undertaking the BDA’s professional level 5 training. Being part of a team of Tutors, you will be expected to input into the development and moderation of our current level 5 training programmes. You will also be expected to engage directly with candidates and be able to build an encouraging relationship that supports them through their training programme much of which is delivered via e-learning. You will assess work completed by candidates in a timely manner providing constructive and supportive feedback.
Reports to: Course Leader Level 5
Key relationships: Assistant Course Leader, Level 5 Tutor Team, Level 5 Admin
Hours of work: This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), but we will consider applications from those looking for 3 or 4 days per week.
Location: Home-based (UK), with travel to in person team days approximately twice a year required. (the team days are expected to be in or around the Berkshire area).
Salary: £32,550 per annum (FTE)

British Dyslexia Association Approved Diagnostic Assessors
Apply to join the BDA Approved Assessors list, to carry out dyslexia assessments via our referral service for self-funded assessments.
Following a successful application, the cost to be added to the list is £100 per year. Once you are added to the list your biography is sent to all clients that fit your criteria and when they have chosen you, we will send you their details for you to contact them directly. For each successful referral the BDA will charge you £120 including VAT. You provide your own biography that we send to the client, this is where you list your assessment fee. This must include the BDA £120 referral fee.
We also offer a Corporate Service for funded assessments; successful applicants are given the opportunity to assess under this service in which the BDA pays the assessor to carry out the assessment on behalf of the BDA.

- DBS (within the last 3 years) or details of the update service along with your Date of birth
- A copy of an anonymised report (using the new SASC report format if you are a Specialist Teacher) The assessment should have been carried out and report written within the last 18 months.
