Fundraise for the BDA
Support us at your celebration

Whether it's your birthday, wedding or anniversary - do something amazing and support the BDA for the day! Ask for donations in lieu of gifts or make a donation pledge rather than a wedding favour!
Support us at your celebration
Your big day is a wonderful opportunity to raise funds for the BDA. Whether you are celebrating a birthday, wedding or anniversary, we have a number of ideas to help make your fundraising easy.
Birthday fundraising
Setting up a birthday fundraiser on Facebook is quick and simple; a great way to raise funds for the BDA. Instead of birthday cards, why not ask you friends to donate to your fundraiser instead. We wouldn’t want you to miss out, so be sure to enjoy a big slice of cake on your special day.
Happy Anniversary!
Are you celebrating a special anniversary? If so, congratulations! You can support the BDA and celebrate with your loved ones, by setting up a Just Giving or Facebook fundraising page, asking for donations instead of gifts. For example, you could use your milestone anniversary to set a target, asking people to donate £10 for 10 years of marriage. If a party is in the diary, why not collect donations on the night or hold a raffle. Get in touch if you’d like to order a collection tin.
Weddings and partnerships
Thank you for thinking of the BDA on your big day. If you would like to raise money, instead of presents, setting up a fundraising page is a great way to collect donations on our behalf. Alternatively, we recently launched new BDA pin badges, which can be given out as wedding favours. If you’d like to place an order, please get in touch to find out more. We ask for a minimum donation of £1 per badge, to help cover costs.

Create a fundraising page
Using Facebook Fundraising or JustGiving, create a fundraising page with a total, to make it easy for people to donate.
- Include some images and stories about why you have chosen to support the British Dyslexia Association and why it's a cause close to your heart!
- Create a fundraising target and make sure it's on your page - people like helping towards a known target.
- If there's an event for your celebration (e.g. birthday/anniversary party or wedding), ensure you include the donation page link on all invitations and thank you messages.
