Dyscalculia and Literacy Conference - A Review

Tuesday 29 November 2022

Last week we hosted our 2022 Dyscalculia and Literacy Conference in Swindon.

It was a great opportunity for attendees to network, visit our exhibitors and attend workshops with live Q&A’s sessions from our speakers.

BDA CEO Chivonne Preston welcomed guests followed by presentations from our keynote speakers and professionals.

Interactive workshops, including SASC-approved sessions were well attended and received positive feedback.

Amongst the attendees', parents, educators and professionals came together to learn and embrace dyslexic thinking amongst literacy and numeracy.

Chivonne Preston said, "The conference was a fantastic day of learning and connection.

It was an inspiration to have such expert speakers in the room, in person, with so many dedicated teachers, educators and psychologists from our community and there were so many fascinating discussions going on in the breaks and over lunch - these conversations are so vital in sharing best practice and moving the whole field forward. A superb day!"

"I just wanted to say a big thank you for a really informative day today. I am really grateful for the opportunity to attend. It was so good to be able to discuss/ share ideas with Wiltshire colleagues, and meet other professionals from around the country (including your super trainers).

I thought it was a really well organised day, and such a treat to attend an in-person event for the first time in a very long time! And with lunch – what a treat!

I have come away with lots of ideas, including tips for report writing, clarity about optometry and ideas to support early language." Attendee
