Annual Awards 2023

We are excited to take the opportunity to celebrate our community at our prestigious ceremony while also enjoying the company of leading experts within the field for dyslexia and dyscalculia.

The event, hosted at Drapers' Hall, located in the heart of London City boasts of some of the country's most elegant interiors. You will dine and celebrate in a venue frequented by royalty and often used within film and television as a double for Buckingham Palace.


With everything from esteemed awards, decadent food, enriching entertainment and the opportunity to meet other like-minded individuals dedicated to shaping the future of dyslexia.

The evening will be a black tie event which includes a drinks reception on arrival; an exquisite three course meal with wine, auction and live entertainment. It promises to be an inspiring, motivating and celebratory event not to be missed.

Grant Harrold

Grant Harrold, ‘The Royal Butler’ and ‘Defender of Etiquette’, has been described as ‘Britain’s Etiquette Expert’ and ‘One of Europe’s Top Gurus on Etiquette’ due to his background and teaching on the subject for almost 20 years.

Ollie Winiberg

For over 13 years, Ollie Winiberg presented for BBC Radio. Alongside his own BBC Music Introducing program, he was often heard presenting on BBC Radio One, 6 Music, 1xtra and the BBC World Service (which has a global reach of over 20 million). Ollie now has a successful career as a Podcast Host, with the podcast The Heavy Hooks Show.

Award Categories are as follows:

Inspiring Teacher Award

For an inspiring educator who has gone above and beyond to help and encourage children and young people with dyslexia to reach their full potential. Their commitment to, and passion for, equity in education is exemplary to all.

Inspiring Teaching Assistant Award

For an inspiring Teaching Assistant who enriches the lives of children every day and is an asset to the teachers they support. Showing best practice and helping the children they work with overcome neurodiverse, social or emotional barriers to learning.

Inspiring SENCO Award

For an inspiring Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) who enriches the lives of children every day. Providing understanding, reassurance and specialist knowledge to every child entrusted to their care.

Outstanding Individual Achievement Award

An individual with dyslexia/and or other co-occurring differences who has shown resilience, dedication, and initiative in promoting greater understanding of dyslexia and has embraced their ability to #thinkdifferently

Outstanding Young Person (13-18 years)

A young person with dyslexia and/or other co-occurring differences who has transformed their life or positively impacted the lives of others. A young person who has used their dyslexic talents to give back, or positively contribute to raising awareness of dyslexia in their community in an exceptional and impactful way.

Outstanding Child (under 13 years)

A child with dyslexia who has faced learning challenges every day but has never given up and gives their best to everything they are faced with. They inspire others through their positivity.

Community Award

This award is for a group or organisation that has improved the quality of life for those with dyslexia and other co-occurring differences in their community. The award exemplifies what can be achieved when we work together.

Innovation Award

This award is for an entrepreneurial individual that has embraced thinking differently and has demonstrated an innovative approach to furthering research, understanding or support in the field of dyslexia.

The Cadogan Award for Resilience

A young person with dyslexia and/or other co-occurring differences who has transformed their life or positively impacted the lives of others. A young person who has used their dyslexic talents to give back, or positively contribute to raising awareness of dyslexia in their community in an exceptional and impactful way.

Lifetime Achievement Award

This award celebrates a special individual that has dedicated their life to furthering understanding of dyslexia and neurodiversity. They have made a significant and positive impact on their community, tirelessly giving their time and practical support. Their commitment and passion for a dyslexia-friendly society is inspiring to all.
