Meeting with APC reviewing team

Friday 22 November 2019

Yesterday, the BDA were involved in meeting with highly experienced, passionate individuals who are part of our APC reviewing team. This group will review and give feedback to individuals renewing their Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) through the BDA.

An APC is the requirement for all specialist teacher assessors to hold in order that they can demonstrate they hold the correct level of experience to carry out a full diagnostic assessment for dyslexia and also that they are committed to ongoing continuous professional development.

The process is rigorous and needs to be so in order to protect the work that we do as assessors, however it is also positive in that those doing the reviewing will always give clear guidance on which areas need to be improved. I feel very honoured to be part of this group of professionals and to share expertise and experience.
