The Dyslexia Friendly Learning Environment

It is recognised that the vast majority of dyslexic individuals spend most, if not all, of their education time in a mainstream classroom or learning environment. This module identifies how the “classroom” and “institution” can be made dyslexia friendly, thus creating an inclusive learning environment. This module is linked to the BDA's Quality Mark which provides a template of good practice in this arena.

Dyslang (Dyslexia and Additional Academic Language Learning)

The aim of this eLearning module is to enable teachers and parents to support the multilingual dyslexic individual in learning an additional curriculum language. That is, for example, in the UK a child may have Welsh as their first language, use English in the classroom, but also have to learn French. The materials for this module have been developed as part of a project, funded with support from the European Commission.

Practical Strategies for Revision & Exam Technique

Individuals are frequently told to revise for exams but are rarely shown how to revise effectively or efficiently. This eLearning module identifies and explains a wide variety of strategies and approaches to support dyslexic individuals with effective revision so that they can maximise their learning. It also sets out techniques that can be taught to dyslexic individuals in order to help them to achieve success in examinations.
