Today, the Department for Education has announced plans to fund assistive technology trials for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities in up to 100 schools and colleges.

As far as I know, becoming helpless is not part of any school curriculum, hidden away amongst the 3 R’s. Nevertheless, I, like many, fell into this bracket.

Am I entitled to support/funding for an assessment or resources? Unfortunately, as dyslexia is not seen as a medical condition there is no direct government funding for diagnostic assessments or resources in schools, colleges or anywhere else.
