A warm welcome to our new trustees

Rob Yeldham
Rob brings 30 years' experience of changing attitudes, behaviours and public policy using communications and public affairs. He is a fellow of the Chartered Society of Public Relations and works as Director of Strategy, Policy and Engagement for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. He was previously vice chair of a national arthritis charity and is a board member of another not for profit organisation. He has personal and family experience of dyslexia and a particular interest in achieving change in the workplace.

Lucy Squance
Lucy Squance is a strategic fundraising and partnerships leader with more than 20 years' experience helping charities grow income, build strong relationships and increase their impact. She has held senior leadership roles at Alzheimer's Research UK and Made By Dyslexia, leading growth across fundraising, partnerships, communications and strategy.
A proud dyslexic thinker, Lucy cares deeply about widening opportunity and helping people feel understood, supported and able to thrive. Alongside her executive career, she is also a trustee and mentor of The Elischer Foundation, supporting leaders across the social impact sector. She brings to the British Dyslexia Association both lived experience and a strong belief in the power of advocacy, understanding and practical change.

Andrew Cave
Andrew Cave has spent more than 25 years working across business, politics and civil society in the UK and Europe, advising leaders and organisations on complex policy, communications and public affairs challenges. Alongside his executive career, he has held a number of non executive and advisory roles supporting charities and purpose led organisations.
Andrew's commitment to the British Dyslexia Association is deeply personal. Growing up with dyslexia, he was fortunate that a small number of teachers and mentors recognised strengths that others had overlooked and gave him opportunities that changed the course of his life. Their belief in his potential shaped both his career and his outlook.
Having worked closely with entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout his career, Andrew has seen first hand how often creativity, resilience and innovative thinking are found in people whose talents do not always fit traditional educational models. He believes people should be recognised for what they can do, rather than defined by what they find difficult.
Andrew strongly believes in the BDA's work helping children, young people and adults with dyslexia to understand their strengths, build confidence and fulfil their potential.
