Lottery FAQs
What are the chances of winning?
Each £1 entry has a 1 in 63 chance of winning one of four prizes. The draw takes place every Friday when the winning number is drawn at random. You can check the winning number here: Results | Unity Lottery
How does this lottery support the work of the BDA?
For every £1 played, at least 50p goes directly to the BDA. The other 50p is split between the prize pot and the administration costs.
How do I sign up?
You can join online by Direct Debit or Debit card or download and complete this form to send via Freepost.
The monthly cost breakdown of £4.34 Direct Debit for playing the lottery is based on paying £1 per week over a 52-week year. Direct Debits for this amount are collected once a month and sometimes there will be five weeks in a month, so the additional 34p is to build up credit to cover the fifth week in these instances.
Who can play?
You must be 18 or over to play the BDA Lottery. When you sign up, you will be required to declare that you are over the age of 18. Anyone under the age of 18 will not be permitted to purchase a ticket to enter the lottery.
Please note that if, upon winning, any individual is found to be under the age of 18 then all winnings will be forfeited.
What if I have difficulties with numbers?
Members of our community may have maths related difficulties or dyscalculia, which is a specific and persistent difficulty in understanding numbers which can lead to a diverse range of difficulties with mathematics.
We recommend using text to speech software when joining the lottery to ensure that you understand the amount you are committing to play.
In terms of playing the BDA Lottery, prizes are issued automatically so there is no need to claim your prize.
