The British Dyslexia Association warmly welcomes Tom Hunt MP as new Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties. Tom takes over as Chair from Sharon Hodgson MP who stepped down after eight years in the post.

Diagnosed with dyslexia and dyspraxia aged 12, Tom is passionate about ensuring that others are given the educational opportunities and support that they need to achieve their full potential, regardless of their family circumstances. Tom has spoken frequently in public about his own experience and his commitment to advocating on behalf of all learners with specific learning difficulties.

At their next meeting, the APPG will explore the identification, impact and support for individuals with dyspraxia for children and young people in education and for adults in the workplace and society.

The BDA looks forward to working closely with Tom to shine a light on the needs of our community and to campaign for change.
