The BDA Board of Trustees are delighted to announce that we have appointed Chivonne Preston as the new Interim CEO of the BDA.

After a thorough and full recruitment process, trustees were impressed by Chivonne's detailed understanding of the Charity sector as well as her warmth and empathy displayed at interview.

Chivonne is an expert in small to medium size enterprise with significant experience of operational and strategic leadership in both the private and charity sectors. Most recently she was CEO of the education charity Mindfulness in Schools Project. Previous roles include Chief Operating Officer for the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, Business and Operations Director of the membership charity Parentkind and Operations Director of PLMR, a communications consultancy. Chivonne is a Chartered Accountant with an MSc in Public Policy and Public Administration.

Chivonne commented that;

"It is a real privilege to have been appointed Interim CEO of the British Dyslexia Association and I can't wait to meet the team and learn more about the important work that is underway. I am passionate about using my skills and experience to change society for the better and believe there is much yet to be done to create a welcoming and empowering space for everyone with dyslexia. I am looking forward to helping the charity deliver greater impact for beneficiaries and improving outcomes and opportunities for generations ahead".

The Board are excited about this new stage in the development of the Charity and are entirely confident that Chivonne will lead the way in delivering our mission to change society by breaking through barriers and enabling everyone with dyslexia to be acknowledged, accepted and empowered.

On behalf of the whole BDA team we would like to welcome Chivonne, and we look forward to the coming months ahead.
