"Set up for somebody else" - new report (Sponsored by Ryman)
At the heart of this year’s campaign was a shared goal: to ensure every young person with dyslexia is heard, understood, and supported in education. For too long, many have faced systems and expectations that weren’t designed with them in mind. That’s why we launched our new report, "Set up for someone else": Young people with dyslexia in the education system, which highlights the real experiences of dyslexic young people and calls for meaningful reform in schools, policy, and teacher training.
Making change happen
Our work doesn’t stop with awareness. Together, we are driving change at the highest levels of government. We’re proud to have launched the UK’s first voice petition in partnership with Jamie Oliver, calling for urgent action to ensure every child with dyslexia is properly supported in education. The response has been incredible, and it’s only the beginning of a powerful movement demanding systemic change. The next steps will be shared soon! Listen to the petition on Spotify.
A week of connection and community
Throughout the week, we hosted online get-togethers, creating spaces where individuals, families, and educators could connect, share, and learn. We also released downloadable PowerPoint presentations to help schools and workplaces lead their own awareness sessions and keep the conversation going long after the week ends.
A huge thank you!
This year’s success would not have been possible without the incredible support of so many. To the celebrities and MPs who used their platforms to raise awareness, the organisations and schools that took part, hosted events, and shared resources. And to everyone who shared their story, engaged online, and helped spread the message, you are the heartbeat of this campaign.
Let’s keep raising the volume!
Together, we truly raised the volume and we won’t turn it down until every young person with dyslexia has the understanding and support they need to thrive.
