Giving Tuesday

Tuesday 28 November 2023

Giving Tuesday is the international day dedicated to giving back to good causes. It exists to promote and celebrate a global day of giving.

Why donate to the BDA this Giving Tuesday...?

10% of the population are thought to be dyslexic but it’s a hidden disability and often misunderstood.

Dyslexia can present daily barriers in education, in the workplace and in life, and many find it hard to thrive in a system that often fails to recognise, value, or encourage them. They may feel shame for their differences, which may be misinterpreted as lack of ability, laziness or conduct issues. This can have a big impact upon their confidence and self-esteem, as well as limiting life choices.

The BDA is here to change that. We offer free, vital services such as the national Dyslexia Helpline and training webinars for parents, teachers and employers ensuring our support reaches far and wide. We have been the experts in the field of dyslexia for over 50 years, campaigning for change and leading the way in embedding dyslexia friendliness across all parts of society. We work with a wide variety of organisations to help cultivate and encourage best practise for people with dyslexia, increasing the understanding of the challenges – and promoting the benefits - of a different way of thinking.

Donating to the British Dyslexia Association on Giving Tuesday helps fund vital services and resources to support individuals with dyslexia. Your contribution will help us make a positive difference to the lives of dyslexic individuals.

This Giving Tuesday will you donate to help us create a dyslexia friendly society where everyone can flourish?

Without support from people like you, we couldn't continue our invaluable work. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supports and helps us to continue to be there for children, young people and adults with dyslexia and co-occurring differences. Thank you.
