Location
The London Marathon is one of the most iconic events in the world and this could be your chance to be part of it. Experience the electric atmosphere of race day, run past London’s most famous landmarks and be cheered on by thousands of supporters -including the BDA’s very own cheering squad!
By joining #TeamBDA, you’ll be running to support people with dyslexia across the UK, helping us provide vital services, raise awareness and work towards a more dyslexia-friendly society.
Applications for the 2027 London Marathon are now open and we’d love you to be part of it.
If you would prefer to submit your application via video or audio, you’re very welcome to do so. Please email your application to fundraising@bdadyslexia.org.uk and ensure you answer all of the questions.
Have you applied through the ballot?
We recommend anyone applying to the BDA for a charity place also enters the ballot. The ballot opens shortly after the 2026 London Marathon. If you are lucky enough to get a place through the ballot, you can still get all the benefits of being a member of #TeamBDA and our cheering squad will still be on hand to give you a big cheer as you approach the finish line, but it allows us to make our team even bigger!
Please email fundraising@bdadyslexia.org.uk if you have a ballot place and want to run for the BDA.

What are the benefits of joining #TeamBDA?
Our fundraising team our on-hand to support you throughout the lead up to the Marathon day. We will send you out a running top and be there on the day to cheer you on at our cheerpoint. You will have regular training, event and fundraising updates and we can answer any queries you may have. We have a closed facebook group for you to chat to current and past London Marathon runners.
How much do I need to raise?
If we offer you a BDA charity place we ask for a £100 registration fee and that you pledge to raise a minimum of £2,500. If you have your own ballot place there is no fundraising target, but we would be grateful for anything you are able to raise.
