Enjoy stunning scenery, embrace the elements and soak up the fantastic atmosphere in the Great North Swim. The one mile swim, taking place in Windermere over the weekend of the 7th – 9th June 2024 is suitable for all abilities and is the equivalent of 64 lengths of a 25 meter pool. Expect stunning scenery, the best of local food and drink, outdoor activities, culture, art, history and thousands of like-minded people coming together. Think of it more as an open-water adventure than a race.

Already have a ballot place?
If you have already secured your own ballot place but wish to run for the British Dyslexia Association we would love to have you as part of the team and send you a running top. There is no fundraising target, but we would appreciate anything you are able to raise. Please email fundraising@bdadyslexia.org.uk to let us know you would like to run on our behalf.
FAQs
- You must be 16+ to take part.
- Wetsuit use is optional in temperature's above 15 degrees. A wetsuit will give extra buoyancy and warmth, but please make sure it fits as ill fitting suits aren't allowed due to safety reasons.
- Please do wear goggles if you can. Aids such as snorkels are not allowed.
