Giving Tuesday 2020
“People with dyslexia have so much to offer the world, but without the right systems in place, our talents are wasted”
Claud Williams, British Dyslexia Association Ambassador
Dyslexia affects millions of people across the UK. From all walks of life. From all backgrounds. Dyslexia doesn’t discriminate – our education system does. 80% of people with dyslexia leave school without receiving a diagnosis because assessments are simply too expensive.
Having a dyslexia assessment can open the door to the support a child needs to thrive. Without one, they can easily fall behind having a lasting impact on their life.
At the British Dyslexia Association, we strongly believe that no child should be left behind. That’s why this Giving Tuesday we’re asking our supporters to help us raise money to offer free diagnostic assessments to those who can’t afford one.
All the money we raise will go directly to providing free assessments to low-income families, and help us build a brighter future for children across the UK.
Hear from our supporter Kitty, aged 12, who shows the difference an assessment can make.
