Dyslexia Awareness Week
2026 theme:
Dyslexia in real life: At work
5 to 11 October.
This year, Dyslexia Awareness Week will focus on dyslexic adults and their experiences of work and the workplace.
Our theme, Dyslexia in real life: At work, will look at how recruitment, communication, workplace systems, management and access to adjustments can affect dyslexic employees.
Dyslexia is often associated with school, reading and spelling, but it is lifelong and can affect many parts of working life. This may include completing applications, processing information, managing workloads, using workplace systems and progressing in a career.
Dyslexic employees bring valuable skills, experience and different ways of thinking. But when workplaces are not designed with different needs in mind, unnecessary barriers can make it harder for people to show what they can do.
Throughout the week, we will share new research, lived experiences and practical guidance for employers, managers and employees.
Our aim is to build understanding, challenge barriers and encourage workplaces where dyslexic people can contribute, develop and thrive. And don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten our amazing educators, we will be providing a class activity pack that can be used during DAW26.
More information and campaign resources will be shared soon.
