We are sad to announce the passing of Patience Thomson

The British Dyslexia Association is very sad to hear of the death of Patience Thomson. Patience was a writer, lecturer and expert on reading. She was a former Principal of Fairley House School, and she co-founded Barrington Stoke, the publisher of books for reluctant readers. Our Helpline especially remembers Patience for the wonderful inspiration that her book ‘101 Ways to Get Your Child to Read’ brought to parents.
