Measures Announced to Ensure Talented Trainees Get Into Teaching

The BDA is delighted to see positive changes have been made to the professional skills tests that individuals wanting to become a teacher must pass before beginning initial teacher training (ITT).

These changes will enable more talented, creative dyslexic individuals to enter the teaching profession.

The BDA National Helpline has received many calls from worried candidates who would make amazing teachers, but because of some of the extra challenges they face, were worried about taking these tests and being 'locked-out'. The BDA has worked relentlessly to encourage these changes.
