BDA Announce new Dyslexia Smart Award

We are delighted to announce our new BDA Dyslexia SMART Awards for Organisations.

This new opportunity will sit within our Dyslexia Friendly Quality Mark provision. Its purpose is support organisations to meet mandatory legal requirements to make reasonable adjustments for employees with dyslexia and other learning difficulties.

The award is part of the BDA’s strategy towards meeting aim of achieving a dyslexia friendly society for all through listening, supporting and empowering people with dyslexia.

The structure of the award allows organisations an opportunity to celebrate their existing good practice whilst providing a framework for further development to support the needs of their dyslexic colleagues.

Organisations can renew the award on an annual basis. It is acquired via progressive processes which verify dyslexia friendly working practice for organisations in two steps:

Raising knowledge and dyslexia awareness
Making changes to working practice to support the needs of dyslexic individuals.
In addition to helping organisations increase dyslexia-friendly workplace practice through an evidence framework and supporting resources, the award will also include the following benefits:
Organisational Membership – Bronze Level
