Sophia Sam

Hi my name is Noodles aka Sophia and I am running ‘The Big Half’ half marathon in March 2018 to raise money and awareness for The British Dyslexia Association.

Being dyslexic is a part of who I am. I didn’t have the best experiences in education as a 90’s child and a 00’s teenager. Dyslexia was ‘heard of’ but I feel was misunderstood or brushed aside when I was at primary and secondary school. Luckily when I got to college they were very supportive and had a great ‘Additional Learning Support’ team in place. I was tested and begun receiving support and learned about my dyslexic traits.

My current job is as a Visual Art teacher, I often teach and support students with dyslexia as there is often a higher percentage of dyslexic students who gravitate towards the creative arts. The BDA are amazing! They are very informative, supportive and  a trustworthy charity for all those who are dyslexic or even have family, friends or employees who are dyslexic.

Please donate through my JustGiving page if you can.

**** Hi all just an important update**** due to an minor injury I have had to change the date of my Half Marathon run. I will now be taking part in the Hackney Half Marathon on 20th May 2018. Thanks once again to all who supported me! xx
