Specialist CPD Day  - Supporting Study Skills at KS3 and KS4/GCSE

This one day course is aimed at those working with students with literacy difficulties or dyslexia in KS3 and KS4 as they prepare for GCSEs.   The day will cover why study skills are important, how to develop a growth mindset, reading strategies for GCSE, developing writing skills for GCSE and teaching revision skills. We will look at how to use assistive technology to support students and how to prepare them to use exam access arrangements.

Presenters

Zoya Taylor and Kathryn Pearson are AMBDA qualified specialist teachers with considerable experience teaching at Secondary level in a school for pupils with specific learning difficulties.  They both also work as specialist study skills tutors supporting students with SpLDs, Zoya at Oxford Brookes University and Kathryn at the University of Oxford.
