The BDA demonstrated the pilot version of a new online adult screening tool at the Polish Dyslexia Association conference in Gdansk, Poland at the end of September 2006. This is part of Project INCLUDE, an EU funded collaborative project with Hungary, Poland, Greece and Bulgaria as well as several UK partners.
The tool is designed to help identify the strengths, weaknesses and needs of dyslexic adults. Full scale trials in the UK are due to begin at the beginning of December (announcements will be made here when trials begin). Meanwhile, the project team are developing support resources including a book with a dyslexia friendly CD. These will be available in the New Year.
This project is seen as part of the ongoing drive by the BDA to give wider access to resources for dyslexic adults. The project links in with other European activities which include development of training resources.
