Checklist for Accrediting ALSA Courses.
The following information should be used as a guide to BDA accreditation of your course. If you experience any problems, please contact your Accreditation Board Liaison Team.
- Detailed CVs of the course leaders, lecturers or tutors.
- The course reading list and recommended teaching materials and assessment tests.
- Detailed lecture programme to clarify the time allotted to various topics.
- Specification of the hours for tutorials and seminars.
- Extents and nature of assignments.
- Standards of performance criteria by which observed support of a minimum of 1 pupil, will judged. These should be devised by the course leader.
- Pro-formas on which to record the observed support session. Mentors in the workplace to be given on how to complete these.
- Practical assignments for the observation of a support session under the guidance of the mentor.
- Details of:
- age range of the pupils to be supported;
- number of pupils to be supported at any one time; and
- minimum number of support hours.
- Internal and external arrangements for moderating exams and quality assurance.
- Entry qualifications for course members.
- Permission for access to work as required.
