Help in Finding a Job.

For people with significant dyslexic difficulties, dyslexia can present a serious obstacle to finding a job. A bad experience of education may result in a lack of confidence and self-esteem. Problems with reading and writing can make it difficult to apply for jobs. It may also be difficult to do some aspects of a job without the employer making some adjustments.

Resolving these difficulties will not always be easy. However, people with severe dyslexia may be eligible for help from government schemes such as Workstep run by Jobcentre Plus. Jobcentre Plus offers a number of programmes and services to help Jobseekers, unemployed people, particularly long-term unemployed people, people with disabilities and others who may need extra help in finding work..

The aim of these schemes is to help people with a disability find, and keep, a suitable job.

What do these schemes offer?
