Dyslexia is relevant to all employees and employers, and dyslexia friendly workplaces allow those with the condition to reach their potential and maximise their contribution.
An employer’s guide to dyslexia was produced in the summer of 2005 by the BDA who worked as the lead partner in conjunction with corporate venue specialists Sundial, and Key4Learning, a company providing specialist services for dyslexic people.
Its publication followed a series of seminars in the summer of 2004 at which employers from a wide range of organisations discussed dyslexia at work.
The 20-page guide covers a range of issues, from the legislation surrounding dyslexia to the way the condition affects working styles, to job applications, who can provide advice and guidance and how technology can help a dyslexic employee.
