Music, Performing Arts and Dyslexia Conference

Conference Day Programme

Timings: 9.45 a.m. to 4.00 p.m:

The British Dyslexia Association is holding a conference on Music, Performing Arts and Dyslexia in Manchester to disseminate the latest research and best practice for teaching individuals with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties. It features speakers looking particularly at the practical aspects of teaching music. We have also been working closely with C.D.E.T. and colleges for the performing arts and wish to share good practice more widely. It is relevant for teachers in primary, secondary education and those who teach individuals.

Karen Marshall, Dyslexia Friendly Music Teaching.

Karen is a music teacher, with a specialism in piano teaching. She is the author of the popular guide for teaching those with dyslexia which is currently available on the Music Teacher website.

Deborah Leveroy, Research findings on Dyslexia and Acting.

Deborah is an actor and researcher on dyslexia and acting.

Twilight Forum for Teachers and Parents

Timings: 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m:

Our very successful forum event for teachers and parents comes to Manchester! Presentations on dyslexia and how to manage it in the classroom and at home are backed by the latest research. Teachers and parents will also be able to ask the panel their questions.
