BDA International Conference

The British Dyslexia Association’s 8th International Conference is being held on 27th – 30th April 2011 at Harrogate International Conference Centre with the theme Beyond Boundaries.

The conference will be chaired by Joel Talcott PhD, an internationally recognised researcher and Reader in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience from Aston University.

This meeting provides a unique opportunity for the exchange of information and best practice between practitioners, academic researchers and teachers, with a conference programme that includes topical symposia, workshops, interactive poster sessions and keynote lectures by world-leading experts.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Charles Hulme, University of York- The theory and practice of reading intervention
  • Margaret Snowling, University of York- Risk factors for dyslexia: evidence from family risk studies
  • Julie Williams, Cardiff University- Dyslexia Genetics
  • Marketa Caravolas, University of Bangor - Cross-linguistic perspectives on dyslexia
  • David Saldaña, University of Seville - Hyperlexia and Poor Comprehension in Autism
  • Joel Talcott (Conference Chair), Aston University - Beyond Boundaries
