Wake Up 2 Dyslexia!

The BDA is also launching the inaugural Wake up 2 Dyslexia in November. Wake up 2 Dyslexia will be for the whole month and the aim is raising awareness and funds for the BDA and its Local Dyslexia Associations and Local Support Groups.

Wake up 2 Dyslexia is for the whole month of November, and members and supporters are free to choose whether they support DAW, Wake up 2 Dyslexia or even both! There is no set theme to Wake up 2 Dyslexia, you can choose to highlight the need for dyslexic people any way you like. However, the idea behind Wake up 2 Dyslexia is to be an enjoyable fundraiser, so you can do anything you like from having friends and family round for coffee and croissants, baking cakes for your classmates at school, to having a picnic in the park!

We have a number of exciting fundraising ideas on how you can raise funds for the BDA and its local associations, to help thousands of people with dyslexia across the country.

The BDA is linking up with the teen social networking site Piczo www.piczo.com and will have a mini site on Piczo for the month, which will attract a new, younger audience. There will be an events section on this mini site so do update the BDA Office with any events you are running during Wake Up 2 Dyslexia so we can publicise these on the mini site. Keep an eye out on the BDA’s website and mailings for further information on how you can support this.
