BDA Privacy Policy

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is a national charity that represents and supports individuals who are dyslexic. In order to further our aims we provide products and services to individuals, groups and other interested parties.

This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information that we collect when you contact us or use our services.

By providing us with your personal information you accept and consent to the practices described in this policy.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) the data controller is the BDA and the data protection officer at the BDA is Angelique Lyon.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about you when you register with us for example as a member or place an order for products or services, for example training or assessments. We also collect information when you voluntarily provide feedback and participate in other events, for example conferences. All the information that we collect is held securely on our Customer Relationship Management System (CRM).

How will we use the information about you?

We collect information about you to process your order, manage your account and, if you agree, to email you about other products and services we think may be of interest to you. We will not pass on your information to other companies for marketing purposes and will only share it internally or externally in order to enable us to carry out the services you have requested, for example registering you with an awarding body for training qualifications or to arrange an assessment.

Marketing

We would like to send you information about products and services of ours that you may be interested in. You will be asked for your consent to enable us to do this. If you have consented to receive marketing, you may opt out at a later date and you have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes.

Access to your information, correction and deletion, complaints

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email or write to us at the relevant department that you have been in contact with or angeliquel@bdadyslexia.org.uk

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to delete the records that we hold about you.

You may also complain about the way that we process your personal data.
